She was born in Chicago, IL on April 25, 1944.
She was an amazing, kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sibling & friend. She was always there for those she loved and would give them the shirt off her back. In the last years of her life, she struggled with many health issues, but her strong will gave her family a few extra blessed years with her. She wasn’t a baker or Suzie homemaker however, she was the best wife and mother ever. She was the glue that held her family together.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Ellen Marie (Ward) and Charles C. Thomas, her beloved sisters, Carol Ann Shulla and Arlene Patricia Lumpkins, brother Donald Thomas and nephew Curtis Wayne Shulla.
She retired from Northern Trust Bank after 25 years as a Vice President; she enjoyed her profession and took great pride in balancing the books. She was conservative, extremely professional and enjoyed working with her clients. She was someone who always looked just so. Heaven forbid if she forgot her earrings.
Her passions were golf (having spent 10 years in the golfing community of the Villages she loved the sport and her friends there) and politics (of course that passion drove her crazy) though her most important passion was her family.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene “Gene” Lindauer. They were married in January 29, 1966 in Romeoville, IL and spent 50 wonderful years together. Through thick, thin, and “Through the Years” they had each other.
She had siblings who loved her; Janet (Lee) Pestka, Carla (Curtis) Smalling, Mark (Robin) Thomas, Patricia Thomas, Steve (Dottie) Thomas, along with many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her dearly-loved children, Tina (Paul) Shumway, Scott (Danielle) Lindauer, and Lisa (Mark) Raftery.
While she loved all of her family members, the lights of her life were her grandchildren; Brian (Molly), Savannah, Cassidy, Ashley, Dylan, Ashton, Jessica, Kevin, Andrea, Megan, Daniel, and known as “GG” to her great grandchildren; Ty, Makayla, Reagan, Noah and Julia.
She also leaves behind her beloved pooch, Mia Mignuette Thermopolis Renaldo Lindauer; a puff ball of energy.
Her family loved to tease her about being a walking dictionary. She was the wonderful, smart, intelligent woman that her family always went to for help or advice. She had a ginormous heart and will be missed greatly.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
A memorial service will be held on July 9, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. at the Palms-Robarts Memorial Park located at 170 Honore Avenue, Sarasota, Florida.
