She is survived by her father, John Graham "Jack" Gurney III and stepmother Patricia Gurney of Port Charlotte, Florida, mother Rebecca Lindsay of Norfolk, Virginia, grandfather John Graham "Jack" Gurney Jr. of Sarasota, and uncle William Todd Gurney of Bradenton.
Other surviving family members include her aunts Rachel, Suzanne, Gillis, Janet, Judy, and Tracy, uncles Jimmy, Davey and Andy, and extended members of the Gurney, Lindsay and Davis families.
Kimberly was educated in Sarasota County and Charlotte County public schools, attended the Academy of the New Church Girls School in Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania, and received a Florida General Education diploma.
She loved animals and volunteered to provide care for them at several Sarasota area facilities. She was kind, had a joyful sense of humor and beautiful smile.
Family members and close friends will celebrate her life at a private gathering. In lieu of flowers, contributions to mental health and/or animal care organizations would be appreciated.
