

Kurt was born on May 9, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri, where he spent his formative years. The family moved to Sarasota in 1966. He attended Sarasota High and enjoyed baseball and the Florida Gators. He went on to attend Sarasota Vo Tech for his Electrician license. He then worked at Publix for the majority of his career as the Warehouse Supervisor. Throughout his career, he was known for being a “good boss.”
Kurt loved his family, and his puppies. He enjoyed family vacations with his nieces and nephews camping in North Carolina and the Florida Keys. He was a devoted son and enjoyed spending time with his mom.
Kurt is survived by his mom Eileen, his sister, Jan Yocum, sister-in-law, Dawn Zeugin, and his nephews Tim Yocum (Michelle), and Travis Zeugin (Amy). His nieces (by marriage) Jessica Riotti (Steven) and Jenna Klimovich (Greg). Grand nieces and nephews: Kaina and Annlee; Austin and Morgan: Alessia, Jordan and Dominic; and Elijah, Macklin, and Adelina. He is predeceased by his father Vernon, and brother Craig. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
