

LeRoy Robert “Bob” Dapper, 77, of Lakewood Ranch, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Born on November 3, 1947, in Honesdale, Pennsylvania and graduated from Honesdale High School in 1965 before attending his beloved Penn State University where he studied accounting and was a proud member of the Blue Band, graduating in 1969. On April 28, 1973, Bob married the love of his life, Susanjane Ryder.
In his young adult life, Bob was a volunteer firefighter for Honesdale fire department. He also served his country in the U.S. Army as a finance officer, receiving the medal for military merit. Bob was a CPA that went on to have a long and successful career. He worked for Arthur Andersen for 31 years, becoming a partner. He finished his career as Senior Vice President of Human Capital at UnitedHealth Group. During his retirement he became an active member of his community, serving on the Lakewood Ranch Homeowners Association and as a supervisor with the Community Development District.
Known for his strong leadership, work ethic, and influence, Bob impacted many throughout his career. He was a devoted Penn State alumnus, donor, and football fan. He also enjoyed having a good drink with his friends and was a music lover who often frequented the Van Wezel with Susanjane to see musical acts. Above all, he loved his family the most. Bob will be fondly remembered by many for his loving, generous, caring, supportive, and kind personality.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Erin Dapper, and his mother, Jeanette Dapper. He is survived by his wife, Susanjane Dapper; children, Robert Dapper (Julie) and Julianna Hammer (Chris); and grandchildren, Elise, Ethan, and Elliot Dapper, and William and Gwendolyn Hammer.
A celebration of Mr. Dapper's life will be held on Saturday, January 25th, from 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park. The service will be held at 12:00 PM followed by the burial service in the cemetery. We invite you to join us to celebrate Bob’s life at The Grove restaurant at 2 PM.
