Lewis Bernard Osborne, 81, passed away on March 7, 2013 surrounded by the family he loved. Formerly of Chittenango, New York, he has been a resident of Sarasota since 1956.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan, and his son, Michael, daughter, Jill Graves and husband Mike of Anchorage, Alaska, daughter, Tracy Gorski and husband Brian of Sarasota, and son, Lewis L. and wife Melissa of Bradenton, and his sister Mary Lou Lambert of Barrington, New Hampshire. He has 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Lew, a retired construction superintendent, was well known for his knowledge, expertise and fine craftsmanship, and his willingness to help others. He enjoyed wood working, camping, fishing and the outdoors. He served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Moose Lodge, and the American Legion.
A private service will be held at the National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 23rd from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles at 2926 Wilkinson Road.
