Lorraine Margaret Carpenter, age 90, of Sarasota, passed away December 26, 2018, with her family by her side. She was born to the late Patrick and Catherine (Kate) Flanagan, in the Bronx, New York. She was married to the late Vincent Paul Carpenter and they celebrated 68 years of loving marriage. Lorraine is survived by four children: Son, Thomas Carpenter of Yorktown Heights, NY; Daughter, Lynn Ames of East Stroudsburg, PA; Son, Richard Carpenter (Deborah) of Saginaw, MI; Daughter, June Denton (Michael) of Sarasota, FL; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Son, Vincent Joseph. Lorraine was a devout Christian and found great comfort in the word of the Lord. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cared for her family immensely. A memorial service will be held on January 4, 2018 at 9:30 in the morning at Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations made in her honor be sent to the Salvation Army.
