

He was born November 27, 1949 in Chicago, IL to Morris and Mary Marcus.
Mark proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He also volunteered his time as a Guardian Ad Litem. Mark was a liquor/wine and spirits connoisseur, who spent 25 years in distribution and sales. He enjoyed traveling, boating and spending time with his family and pets.
Mark is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Marcus; his children, Brigette Marcus, and Christina (Brent) Marcus-Wagner; his expected granddaughter, Ariana Jordan Wagner; and his fur babies, Remy, Cokie, and Tebow.
Mark underwent a heart transplant on August 10, 2001. With much thanks to Dr. Weston and the Cardiac Care Team at Tampa General Hospital, who gave him the ultimate gift of life, he had the strong will to survive another 15 years to be with his family, in which he cherished.
A funeral service for Mark will be on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 11am at Palms-Robarts Funeral Home; 170 Honore Ave. in Sarasota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10am. Interment will be at Sarasota National Cemetery.
