Martin was born in South Philadelphia. He lived and worked there and the surrounding areas of Southern New Jersey most of his life before retiring to Sarasota, Fl.
He was a high school graduate of the South Philadelphia School for Boys, and later attended Drexel University studying chemistry.
During the Korean War, Martin served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force.
His work and career spanned rural farm labor, retail, construction, real estate, and a 35-year career as a laboratory technician in the medical and petrochemical industries.
Martin passed peacefully in his Sarasota, FL home with his family at his side after a long battle with cancer. Prior to passing, he accepted Jesus Christ into his heart as his Lord and Savior, and has entered into eternity in God’s kingdom, meeting those who went ahead, and waiting for us to join him.
Martin is predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Grace Egizi; his sister Theresa [Dominic] Ventura; his brother Robert [Lois] Egizi; his sister Emma [Joseph] and his brother Eugene Egizi.
Martin is survived by his wife of 69 years, Minerva (DiGangi) Egizi; his sisters, Josephine [Fred] Borgini, Geraldine (Robert) Borbe, and sister-in-law, Eileen Egizi; his 3 children, Thomas [Dierdre] Egizi, Angela Williams, and Linda [Ralph] Macellaro; his 8 grandchildren Paul [Heather] Hunt, Mark [Michelle] Macellaro, Michael Macellaro, Andrea [Dana] Egizi-Price, Diana Egizi, Kimberly [Brian] Vitolo, Melissa [Tommy] Bartlett, and Samantha [Bryan] Chester; his 10 great-grandchildren, Justin, Ashley, and Amber Hunt, Belle and Eva Egizi-Price, Hunter and Calvin Bartlett, Vincent Macellaro, and Lily and Brayden Vitolo.
A celebration of life will be held at the Church of the Incarnation in Sarasota, FL on August 8, 2023 at 9:30 AM. Martin will be interred at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Fl, after a brief service at 12:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, Martin requested memorial contributions in his honor to the Church of the Incarnation roof fund, the Diabetes Foundation, American Cancer Society, and the American Heart Association.
