Mary Kathryn Carney, age 90, of Sarasota, FL passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022. She was born October 7, 1931 in Oelwein, IA to the late Clement and Kathleen Crahan. Mary was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, class of 1950 and Clark College, 1952.
After Clark College, Mary worked in radio at KDTH and emceed style shows in Dubuque, IA. She left that job for marriage and to raise her four children. Later in life she decided to reenter the workforce and joined Coldwell Banker, selling real estate in Edina, MN and later Sarasota, FL.
Mary had a fierce love of family and was always there for her husband, children and anyone else who was important to her.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Linda), Patrick and Timothy (Jennifer) Carney, daughter, Susan (John) Clery; sisters, Connie Corcoran and Betty Tompkins; grandchildren, Kelly Finkelman (Justin), Kyle Clery, Grace Carney, Michael Carney, and Max Carney and great grandchildren, Liam and Olivia Finkelman. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, John; brother, Mike Crahan and grandchildren, Cara, Patrick and Benjamin Clery.
