Mary Lee Daving, aged 89, went to be with Jesus on August 12, 2023. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith that will forever inspire all who knew her.
Mary Lee was born in Willard, Ohio to Dale and Elberta Vogel, one of four children. Mary Lee graduated from Willard High School and attended Kent State University and Capital University. There she met her future husband, Earl Daving. They later married and raised two children, Brian and Jo Ellen. They lived in Ohio until Earl’s passing in 1980.
Mary Lee then moved to Bradenton, Florida in 1981. She was always a proud Buckeye, but sunny Florida remained her home until her passing.
She enjoyed many hobbies during her life such as singing in church, painting, and cooking, but Mary Lee was most passionate about her faith, family, and friends. She was a woman full of grace, love, kindness, and compassion for others. A trusted friend, sister, devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will forever be lovingly remembered. Her presence always brought joy to those around her, shown through her constant smiling, warm embrace, and quiet kindness.
Mary Lee is survived by her son Brian Daving and family, daughter Jo Ellen Phillips and family, and brother Richard (Dick) Vogel and family. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl Daving, parents, Dale & Elberta Vogel, and sisters Ruth Ludwig and Evelyn Vogel. A private service will be held in honor of Mary Lee. May her soul rest in peace, as she will always hold a special place in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations to be made to the Watoto Children’s Ministry (watoto.com/donate).
