Maureen Gonnello

A Celebration of Maureen’s life will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 425 S. Tamiami Trail, Osprey, FL at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 28th. Inurnment will follow at Sarasota National Cemetery at 12:30 PM. A luncheon will be served at 1:30 PM in the Tillotson Hall at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

Maureen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Charles W. Gonnello in 2013. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen of Osprey, FL., sons, Charles P. of Osprey, FL, Mark of Le Mesa, CA, Scott of Osprey, FL and Michael of Westfield, MA; 9 grandchildren, Jonathan, Charles, Steven, Alexis, Jaymee, Mark, Katie, Toni and Glenn and one great granddaughter, Penelope.

Maureen was born in New York City, but raised in Springfield, MA. She graduated from Cathedral High School and Gaugh School of Business in Springfield. Her husband was in the Military, and they lived in Germany, Texas and the Netherlands. She loved this life, and it was a great experience for their 5 children. Maureen retired from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield in 1989 and moved with her husband to Florida. She was a Eucharistic Minister from 1977 until her death and was in awe of this great privilege. Maureen was a faithful Catholic, world traveler, loved her family, the Arbors, friends and entertaining. She lived and enjoyed life to the fullest.
