I’ve known Mikey all my life😆! The day I was born he was probably thinking here we go, she’s gonna want to follow me around all the time. He would’ve been right! I wanted to follow all of them around and always be in all the fun they had! Our favorite show to watch together was Dukes of Hazard! From playing match box cars and Micro Machines to pretending we were cops and robbers, using the Pontiac gas cap as the bank cause we could fold down the license plate! It was so much fun cheering Mikey and Tony on at the baseball field especially since they were on the same team! Fast forward, then finally Mikey was able to drive a motorcycle with Dave and Tony! The coolest thing to see was all the boys get on their bikes to leave for a ride. So many awesome family memories through the years. Mikey and I would always talk about how lucky we were to have a family that was so close to each other. We really won the lottery! Mikey you are a piece of our family puzzle forever holding us together reminding us to love one another, be there for one another and never stop talking to one another!

I met Mike probably about 24 years ago or so through a mutual acquaintance. I remember when he started dating Jen. You could tell it was a forever thing. He was always a great person, and I’m so glad him and Jen made such a beautiful life together. Although we haven’t spoken in years just knowing that he is no longer walking this earth is a shame. I’m glad he got to meet my oldest when I was a new mother and figuring things out. Sending so much love Jen.

Mike’s friends from the Glengarry Post Office paid tribute to him in such a beautiful way. Stephen and Nick, thank you so much for putting this together. Thank you, Trisha and Armando, for the footage; a cherished keepsake. To Mike’s post office family, my sincere appreciation and gratitude. We have felt your support and love. Mike was proud to work with all of you. He was blessed to work alongside his big brother, Dave.

I first met Mike in 2004 when my now husband bought the house across the street.  I didn’t know it then, but I was meeting my first real neighbors.  I’d never lived in a place where people knew their neighbors.  Maybe a cursory wave occasionally, but that’s it.  I heard later how Mike and Jen had a good laugh how I would escape inside to avoid talking.  Well, all these years later and I’m so proud to say my kids were born into our “1950’s neighborhood”.  We looked out for each other.  No one looked out better than Mike.  He was just that guy that made you smile and be glad you were counted among his many friends.  And man did he have friends!  It’s hard not to love someone who is kind to your kids, loves his family beyond belief and is just plain nice.  Since having my first boy, I’ve loved to watch how he fathered his boy.  Openly affectionate, quick to tell him he loved him.  And that’s just what I saw and heard.  I was glad to feel it and openly missing Mike Monday when the weather turned finally.  This was the day that would begin our neighborhood gatherings.  The bonfire in the front yards, kids running around, all the adults coming out of our summer hibernation.  It hit me hard and all these years of great memories flooded.  There won’t be a mail truck that goes by, or that perfect late afternoon sunshine when I won’t remember Mike.  We’ll take good care of your family until we meet again xo

"You're my favorite son-in-law", I frequently told Mikey.  He always laughed and retorted, "Yeah, well I'm your only son-in-law!" But he knew.. and I knew, that our bond was incredibly tight. I met Mike 26 years ago, when he and Jen got together. It did not take long for me to realize why she loved him so deeply.  He treated her like a queen long before they were married. And he treated me like a queen as well. 

I moved into their neighborhood when Christopher was 3. I was 150 feet away from them. Mike literally kept an eye on me and my property. He could look out his back door and see my front garage door over their fence. What a blessing! He had an eye for detail. He fixed stuff for me that I hadn't even noticed! Garage light out? Check. Garbage disposal stuck? Check. Red ant piles? Check. Yard overgrown? Check.

Mikey had a great work ethic. I loved how he explained things in such detail to Christopher, starting when Christopher could barely hold a screwdriver. Mikey taught him engine maintenance, house repairs, yard maintenance, and most of all, how to treat women well, with respect and kindness. 

Mikey loved his neighbors. When it was chilly, we would sit around a tiny campfire and chat with anyone who came over. Mike was constantly attentive to neighbors' kids as well as Christopher. He watched over them as they biked, skated, drove RC cars, played basketball or 4square, and tag. He was a kid at heart when it came to having good clean fun! 

The day before he unexpectedly died, Mike texted me, "Im finally today feeling and looking better.
Just resting and sleeping a lot.
Sarah, thank you so much for helping take care of me.
And as always thank you for taking good care of Christopher. 
I love you."

That was Mike: grateful, loving, funny, faithful, compassionate towards others, and swift to act in times of need. He shared his love for me by actions as well as words. 

He left behind such a wonderful legacy of compassion,  kindness, and gratitude.

I loved making campfires with Mr. Mike and Christopher on their driveway when the Florida weather got slightly cooler! Both families would gather around and tell stories and play charades or other games!

Mike was just a great neighbor, and an even better friend. He was always the first to offer to help whenever I needed it without asking, and we would share our gripes about the insane,but often hilarious things we had seen in our daily lives. You will be missed brother, and know that jennifer, and Christopher are cared for by family,and friends,and I personally will never forget you. Rest easy my friend tell your father I said he raised a good man. You left me with one final gift..to remember to tell the people I love every day that I love them.

Mike was my sister’s knight in shining armor, loved Christopher with all his heart and soul, loved my children, and always had a smile on his face. He was a steady, strong, and loving presence—living proof that good people exist. As a single mom, I will always be grateful that my children had the example of Mike to look up to. He showed them what it means to be a good man, a devoted father, a loving husband, and a caring uncle.
Mike would give the shirt off his back for any of us—my kids, myself, my mom, or my sister. He went above and beyond in countless ways. He always made sure my mom was okay, and he and my sister lovingly cared for my kids when I worked. My children have so many fond memories of being at Aunt Jen and Uncle Mike’s house—playing games, cracking jokes, and simply feeling loved and included. I’ll never forget driving up after work to find him outside playing with them, fully engaged and present. He made every child feel seen and special.
He loved my sister fiercely, and I will always be grateful for the way he showered her with true, unconditional love. I have vivid memories of his generosity and selflessness. During the hurricanes of 2005—Katrina, Rita, and Wilma—when our family was devastated, Mike loaded his truck at Sam’s Club with everything we needed: a generator, blankets, water, food, flashlights, batteries, candles—absolutely everything. He showed up like a saving grace in those dark times. He also built a wooden cornhole set for my son, a makeup vanity for my daughter, and at every gathering he could always be found at the kids’ table, making them laugh.  I will truly miss him—his presence at family gatherings, his jokes, his steady support, and his joy in seeing the kids grow up. Mike was a special, one-of-a-kind, irreplaceable man who will remain in our hearts forever. I am comforted knowing that Heaven has gained another angel, and that he will continue watching over us. Rest in peace, Mike—you were deeply loved.

Whenever I think of Uncle Mike, I think of a silly genuinely happy man who just wanted to make others laugh around him. I looked forward to going to Tia Jen’s house after school because Uncle Mike would always hangout with us kids in the living room making me laugh while we helped Sebastian and Christopher build their legos. The boys and Uncle Mike would go back and forth cracking jokes and calling each other silly goose. Uncle Mike never made me feel like I was just one of the little kids, instead he would always sit with us kids more interested in what we were talking about while the adults were at the big table. He loved spending time with us and never made me feel like I was a chore or burden to look after. I remember the summer before freshmen year I wanted a makeup vanity desk, we didn’t have the money to buy one at the time so I asked uncle Mike if he would build me one. He said yes but it’s a project we both have to make time for. I agreed to come over and help but quickly became distracted by life. Uncle Mike never complained to me about not showing up, Instead he surprised me with the finished product! That is the kind of Uncle he was to me no grand expectations, he just wanted to make us kids happy. I do not have a single bad memory of Uncle Mike even when he had difficult days, he never took his frustration out on anyone. He was a good man-patient, generous, and dedicated to his family. Uncle Mike will forever hold a special place in my heart, and l am grateful for the love and guidance he shared with us.

You and your entire family have been wonderful people to know, and without crossing paths, I would never have experienced that form of kindness and genuineness that is so natural.
You are an angel above now, and I know you will watch over Jen and Christopher to protect them and help them when they need you the most. 
I will miss you, My Friend, more than I have ever told you in person.

I don't think this webpage has enough room to even scratch the surface of the memories I remember with Mikey. I met Mikey when I was about 10 or so. He was the only kid in the neighborhood with a bike that had Mag wheels (white, I think.) Our friend Pete, Allan, and I, would go around the "hood" and build bike jumps at vacant lots that were around. Mikey was riding by one day and joined us and so began our lifelong friendship. Mikey was older than me by a year, so he was able to drive before I was. I remember him and his father in the driveway, lowering the Mazda B2000 and I thought one day I hope to have that, too. I didn't have a father around during my teenage years and when I had my first car. Mikey was the one to show me how to change my oil. He had a Katana motorcycle, and when I wanted to learn to ride, he showed me how, although very reluctantly. Well, when I ended up getting my first bike, it was a Katana! Years later, I remember when he brought Jen to bike night for the first time, and I was so happy that he met someone that was so meaningful in his life and to know that they have been together since then is just amazing. Without a doubt, they were meant for one another. Mikey cherished his life with his wife and son, tremendously. When there were times we hadn’t communicated, we could pick right back up like it was just the day before. There was never a question of "why haven't you called" or "what's wrong, did I piss you off or something?", Mikey just understood that life gets busy amongst us all. Recently, we have enjoyed talking to one another about our boats, fishing, life or just about useless stuff, but it’s incredibly hard for me to believe that won’t continue. I feel like I’m waiting for that call of “Hey! What’s up, man”, yet I know I can’t call him... I am thankful to have met Mikey when we were kids and grew up together, into adults, creating families of our own. The moments and memories we shared, I will never forget.

Loving dad, son, brother, friend, husband. 

When you want to feel Michael's love, find the water. His love is as endless as the waves in the ocean. 
Michael loved Christopher and me fiercely. He told us and showed us every day. 
He loved his family and friends, and he knew you all loved him.
Mike loved to smile and laugh. His goal was to make people happy. Our home was full of joy and laughter. 
Mike was a great provider. He worked hard and enjoyed his job. He has many friends through the post office. Co-workers and customers alike. 
At home, he was non-stop. Working outside, tinkering with this or that. Helping inside with laundry or dishes, or anything. He often asked, "What can I help you with?". He always put us first. 
The day he became a father was the highlight of his life. He was an outstanding dad. He was so affectionate. Anything he could do with or for Christopher, he would: working on the yards, tinkering around the house, playing with Matchbox cars, Legos, customizing RC cars, fishing, the range, running errands. If one was around, the other was sure to follow. 
He was an amazing husband. He gives great hugs. 
God's purpose for Michael was to love us all.
Thank you all for the outpouring of love and support. I know Michael appreciates you being our village. 
Love fiercely with no regrets.
