04/07/1929–11/27/2025
Nancy passed away peacefully in her sleep Thanksgiving morning, leaving behind a legacy of extraordinary love, compassionate care and unmistakable pizzazz. She was 96 and a resident of Siesta Key, Florida. Born in Wellesley, Massachusetts to Donald and Dorothy Hunt, Nancy was the middle of three daughters. She deeply cherished the lifelong bond she shared with her sisters.
Nancy attended Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire, where she began a remarkable 79 year friendship with her roommate, Priscilla Swezey Teich. That friendship would shape the rest of her life, leading Nancy to marry Priscilla’s brother Carroll “Kim” Swezey. Together Nancy and Kim nurtured a happy adventuresome household as they raised six children—five daughters and one son.
In addition to being a strong, selfless mother, Nancy gave generously to her community. She served as a Sunday school teacher, Brownie troop leader, and later worked as a travel agent. Nancy and Kim traveled the world with a close-knit group group of friends, treasuring those shared experiences throughout their lives.
Family was Nancy’s greatest joy. She delighted in her six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Her many passions included family dogs, sailing, tennis, bridge, music and—most of all—parties.
Nancy will be remembered for her boundless thoughtfulness, generosity of spirit, love of humor, keen intuition, and signature pizzazz— a spark that made every space brighter and every person feel special.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the Sayville Congregational Church, 131 Middle Rd., Sayville, NY.
