Peggy Lynn Creadon, 74, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, surrounded by her family and loved ones in Sarasota, FL. A beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Peggy will always be remembered for her deep love of animals and her unwavering willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Peggy began her career at Loral Data Systems in Sarasota in 1979, where she worked for over 10 years as an assistant in the contracts and projects division of SPS. In 1987, she and her family moved to their home in Myakka Valley Ranches, which she lovingly named "Outback." It became her cherished oasis and remained so until her passing. In 1988, Peggy got her first horse, which sparked a lifelong passion for equestrian care and activities. Her husband jokingly referred to that moment as his "first brain hemorrhage," with several more to follow as her herd of horses grew. After her time at Loral, Peggy ran several successful businesses centered around her love for horses, including offering carriage rides at St. Armands Circle, hosting pony parties for children, and providing caisson services for veterans at Sarasota National Cemetery.
In addition to nurturing her animals, Peggy was a woman of many talents. She enjoyed quilting, painting, and even explored the real estate market as a freelance agent. Peggy also spent many summers bass fishing on Lake Okeechobee with her husband and son, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime. Her vibrant spirit and infectious smile will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but she will continue to shine brightly in their hearts.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Thomas "Fitz" Fitzwater; her son, Robert "BJ" Creadon (Christina); her sister, Cherie Stofer; grandchildren, Alexandra "Alex" Sopetto (Craig) and Trey Creadon; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Kane Sopetto; and nieces and nephews, Kelly Paul, Kimberly Gillette, Robby Stofer, Katharine Stofer, and David Stofer. She was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Paul, and her parents, Margaret M. Fell and William F. Fell.
A memorial service will be held on January 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home, 4310 Solutions Lane, Bradenton, FL 34211(Lakewood Ranch). A celebration of life will follow at the family's home in Myakka Valley Ranches. All are welcomed to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Peggy's honor to Sixteen Hands Horse Sanctuary at 941-228-5441 or sixteenhandshorsesanctuary.org
