February 16, 1956 – June 24, 2025
Randy P. Beal, 69, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on February 16, 1956, in Peoria, Illinois, Randy eventually made Sarasota his lifelong home. He was a man who believed in hard work, simple joys, and keeping his word. A devoted, loving husband to his wife Darla, and a proud father to his daughter Jennifer (Josh) and son Jacob, Randy’s greatest joy in life was being with his close-knit family.
Randy worked for many years as a maintenance man—first at Winn-Dixie and later at the Essex House—where he became known as the one who could fix just about anything. He was a true jack of all trades, always tinkering, always figuring things out. Whether it was a car engine or a home project, if Randy could get his hands on it, he could make it better.
He had a quiet strength, a dependable nature, and a heart that was always in the right place. If Randy made a promise, he kept it—every time. He was rarely seen without one of his signature hats and always carried himself with humility, humor, and grace.
Randy was also a lifelong animal lover. Over the years, his home was filled with the joyful chaos of many beloved dogs and cats—each one a treasured companion. He had a special bond with animals, and they loved him right back.
Randy is survived by his loving wife, Darla; his daughter, Jennifer (Josh); his son, Jacob; his brother, Brad (Judy); and his sister, Vanessa. He is preceded in death by his brother, Tim.
Per Randy’s wishes, no formal celebration of life will be held. Instead, he would want those who knew him to cherish his memory in their own way—wherever and whenever it feels right.
His presence, his laughter, and his unwavering love will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Randy’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he loved, and the countless things he fixed along the way.
“Don’t let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.”
