Rita F Zuerner

Rita received her B.S. in Education in 1961from the Catholic Teachers College of Providence Rhode Island and her Masters of Library Science in 1969 from St. John University, Jamaica NY.

In 1950 Rita began her religious life at Villa Augustina in Goffstown New Hampshire with the Religious of Jesus and Mary. In 1953 She completed her studies. She taught elementary school in Fall River, Massachusetts and in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Rita left the religious life in 1973 but remained a devout Catholic. She then became a librarian in The Franklin Junior-Senior High school In Franklin New Hampshire.

Rita was a kind and caring person. She was a loving, mother, grandmother, and aunt to everyone in all of her families. She loved children and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was an artist who enjoyed painting landscapes using a variety of mediums. She enjoyed spending time at the ocean in Maine each summer for many years. She enjoyed her sailboat and being on the water. She loved to travel and learn about different cultures. She was a devout Catholic. She was generous and consistently contributed to help others in need. She enjoyed being an active part of every community that she lived in. She was an avid cribbage player who enjoyed fun competition. Anyone who was fortunate enough to be her family or friend was blessed.

Besides her parents, Gustave and Alice; her sisters, Theresa and Cecile; Rita was also predeceased by her four husbands, Horace L Roberts 1982-1998, Thomas Decillis 2000-2004, Robert Baron 2007-2013 and Bryan Zuerner 2016-2023

Rita is survived by a host of (step)-children, spouses, grandchildren, and great grandchildren from four loving families. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours. A Mass will be held on March 28th at 12:30 at the Incarnation Catholic Church at 2901 Bee Ridge Road Sarasota Florida. Burial of ashes to follow the Mass.

The family requests no flowers. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital.
