Robert Michael Fett Sr.

Robert proudly served his country in the US Navy, where he was an LSO on the USS Saratoga. He worked in Hempstead, NY for Philbor Motors until he moved to Sarasota in 1969. Robert then worked for Siesta Key Marine and Fraley Oldsmobile until he started Bob Fett’s Auto with his wife, Kathleen, in 1971 which later grew into Auto Radiator and Repair Co. During that time, Robert became president of NARSA and was a founding member of ICE. He was also President of EAA Chapter 180, member of Knights of Columbus, and Cars and Rods of Sarasota. He was also a long time member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Robert was an avid boater, fisherman, and was a US Coast Guard approved captain, a private pilot and a master mechanic.

He will be forever missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Kathleen Fett; his children, Kimberly Ann (John) Rosploch, Robert Fett Jr. (fiancé Jennifer Lynch), and Lisa Ann (Lance) Roundy; his grandchildren, Megan, John, Abby, Emma, Matthew, Sara, Katelyn, Kayleigh, Kyle, and Kathryn; his brothers, Ronald (Deanne) Fett, and Harold Fett; sister, Susan Arnold; and many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Palms Robarts Funeral Home; 170 Honore Ave in Sarasota, FL. A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 11am at St. Patrick Catholic Church; 7900 Bee Ridge Rd, Sarasota, FL. Interment will take place at Sarasota National Cemetery following the service at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Tidewell Hospice or St Patrick Catholic Church.
