Steven D MacArthur

Steven David MacArthur, 76, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2023 in Sarasota, Florida. He was a remarkable man that believed in God, family, and education. Steve was born in Allen Park, Michigan on June 10, 1947.

Steve is survived by his loving wife Karen Aussenhofer, wonderful sister Amber Gateman, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents David MacArthur and Peggy O’Toole MacArthur, and sister Joan MacArthur.

Steve graduated with a Master’s Degree from Eastern Michigan University. He was both a Middle School and a High School teacher, and loved by his students, especially in the wood working classes that he taught. Steve was happily married to Karen Aussenhofer who was always by his side as they enjoyed a wonderful and loving life together. They both enjoyed traveling and being together at their beautiful home in Sarasota. One of Steve’s favorite musical groups was the Beach Boys, and he never missed an opportunity to see the Beach Boys live in concert. Steve’s professional career was in wood working as a master furniture and cabinet maker as working with his hands always made Steve happy. Steve had a flare for joke telling and always made those around him laugh.

Services will be private. You will be dearly missed Steve, and you will always be in our hearts.
