Violet was born in Morrocco, Indiana, on August 31, 1931. She attended school through the 8th grade. Violet was married on January 20, 1952, to Amos Kauffman. They were married for 66 years.
Violet’s occupation was as a seamstress. She started her own business in 1968 making custom draperies. She owned Kauffman Kustom Interiors for 32 years. Violet’s hobbies were reading, sewing, crocheting, and coloring.
Violet is survived by her two daughters, Linda Cooper (Jack) and Donna Wood. She has five grandchildren, Timothy “Rusty” Smith, Adrienne Empey (Ryan), Kati Ramage, K.C. Wood (Cori), and Kris Wood (Lindsay). She has eight great-grandchildren, Lexi Holcomb (Tyler), Austyn Lopez, Ava Cooper, Ella Wood, Oliver Wood, and Winnie Violet Wood, Ty Ramage and Baylee Ramage. She also has two great-great-grandchildren, Amelia Freeman and Andrew Holcomb.
The family will have a private graveside service to celebrate her new life.
