

Wanda Feagans passed away peacefully in the early morning on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at her residence Heron House in Sarasota, under the care of Tidewell Hospice.
She was born on January 28, 1923, to Lloyd and Marie Duncan in Warsaw, Indiana. Mrs. Feagans was 99 years old. She graduated from Goshen High School, Indiana, in 1940. She met her first husband in High School and married Merritt Fausnaugh, January 24, 1943. August 1942, Merritt enlisted in the Army Air Corp as an Air Crewman. Merritt was called to active-duty February 2, 1943, as a pilot cadet. Wanda followed her husband while in pilot training around the United States until he was ordered to pilot his B-17 with a nine-man crew to England. He completed 30 bombing missions over Germany and was killed in action on October 6, 1944, eight weeks after the birth of their son, Gregg Duncan Fausnaugh.
Following World War II, Wanda married Edwin O. Feagans on July 7, 1946. Edwin was a Marine Corp Veteran of World War II and completed three amphibious landings in the South Pacific. They lived in Goshen, Indiana, until moving to Sarasota, Florida, in June of 1956 with their three children.
Upon arriving in Sarasota, Wanda helped Edwin start Sarasota Kitchens and Design Inc. during the construction boom of 1956. She loved raising many poodles over her lifetime and enjoyed boating with beach picnics. She was known for her love of all things purple to include her clothes, jewelry and home furnishings.
Wanda is survived by her sons Gregg (Laurie) and Mike (Lou); grandchildren Lori Feagans Jorgensen (Drew) and Brent Feagans; great grandchild Kelley Jorgensen Russo (Nick).
She was predeceased by her daughter, Dee Ann Dirling (George) and her sister Joan Doyle (Harry).
There will be a celebration of life at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Avenue, Sarasota, June 18, 2022; 4pm to 6 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tidwell Hospice of Sarasota.
