

Born on March 16, 1944, in London, Ohio, Rick was a proud graduate of Madison South High School. He continued his education at Ohio State University before signing with the Minnesota Twins, launching a long and distinguished career in professional baseball.
Rick’s baseball journey took him across the country, where he played, coached, and managed for several major league teams, including the Minnesota Twins, Kansas City Royals, Montreal Expos, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago White Sox and Miami Marlins, He also managed minor league teams such as the Nashville Sounds, and Memphis Chicks. His deep passion for sport was matched only by his love for farming, a pursuit that brought him great joy throughout his life.
Rick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Libby Renick, his sister, Mary Kelly, and his parents. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Ty Renick, daughter in law, Katherine Garcia-Renick, Shad Renick, daughter in law, Kelly Renick, and Joshua Renick, as well as his grandchildren, Arianna, Elijah, and Aiden. Rick is also survived by his sister Charlotte Sifrit and her children as well as his sister Mary’s children.
Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate Rick's life on Saturday, February 21st starting at 11:00 AM at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park. A memorial service will held at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
In honor of his memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Libby and Rick Renick Foundation, located at 6540 Canary St., Sarasota, FL 34241, in lieu of flowers.
