Wilma was born in Stidham, Oklahoma on April 17th, 1936 to Bailey and Etta McCutchen of Newton County, Arkansas. Bailey and Etta raised 6 children of which Wilma was the last surviving sibling.
Wilma proudly raised 4 children and was always a strong guiding force in their lives. Her beloved son Richard Arlis Richardson was waiting for her when she passed over. She leaves 3 daughters, Carol Jean Dorety, Jann Marie Richardson, and Julie Ann Weil. However, she was most proud of her grandson, Paul Curtis Ealy and her granddaughter, Erin Michelle Dorety. Her sons in law, Michael Dorety and Danny Weil have always been part of her strong support system.
Raised in California and Harrison, Arkansas, she developed a strong sense of family that was passed down through generations. She graduated from Harrison High School in 1954 and married Walter Arlis Richardson. She spent the next several years as an Air Force wife. Her children were all born on Air Force bases in Biloxi, Mississippi, Anchorage, Alaska and San Antonio, Texas. But no matter where the service sent the family, Wilma always managed to make a warm and beautiful home for her growing family.
Along the way, she worked at many occupations, such as bank teller, secretary, private investigator, executive assistant and real estate agent. But her main job was always overseeing the lives and health of her four children. Wilma always made it clear that her kids were her main priority.
In February of 1996, she married the love of her life, William Bolyard. Her extended family grew to include 3 more sons, Gary Bolyard, David Bolyard, and Jeff Bolyard. They brought much needed fun and interest to the family. Her new daughter’s in law, Julie Beth Bolyard and Gretchen Bolyard helped make the last years of her life more joyful. This also gave her the opportunity to add 2 more grandkids to the fold, David Bolyard, Jr and Niki Bolyard Hual
She will be laid to rest beside her husband, William Bolyard, on September 2nd, 2016 10:30 am at the Sarasota National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held afterwards at 7546 42nd Court East, Sarasota. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements were handled by Palms Robarts Funeral Home.
