Nellie Own Baker age 90, peacefully passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018. She is survived by her children, Carol (Phillip) Murray, Michael (Kim) Baker and Steven Baker; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. 'Tom' Baker; son, Daniel Baker and 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Nellie was born on December 28, 1927 in Lakemore, Ohio to the late Ora and Lyda Warner. She enjoyed camping, golfing, oil painting and volunteering at the American Legion Post 66. Nellie was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Pastor Shawn Cornett officiating. Inurnment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 11:00 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 66 or the Alzheimer's Association.
