Andrea Leslie Askinazi

With profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Andrea Leslie Askinazi, a loving and devoted mother to Jennifer and Michael Ouellette, grandmother to Matteo DiGirolamo and friend to many. Andrea passed on Monday, March 23, 2020 in Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 71. Andrea was born September 25, 1948 and raised in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of Theodore and Sally Plotnick, she attended Sheepshead Bay High School. She was predeceased by her husband Marc Askinazi. Andrea and Marc fell in love with Arizona in 1986 and later decided to call Phoenix their home. Andrea spent many years taking care of Marc after he had a devastating accident which left him with spinal cord damage and wheelchair bound.

After Marc's passing she surrounded herself with loving friends and family. Andrea began to live her life again, traveling more often, spending time with her family, her cats and friends. She loved playing Mah Jong with the girls, dining out and planning her next adventure.

She was so giving and thoughtful. She was a tough cookie who always spoke her mind, but to know her was to love her. She shared her life with too many people to name. She was a great friend and was lucky to be blessed with so many that were great friends to her. She lived a very full life and we weren't ready to give her up yet. She will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 1st, 2021 at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery by the Serenity Mausoleum Courtyard Fountain at 10:30 AM.
