

Beatrice Louise (LeMay) Moore was born in Worcester, Mass, the sixth of eight children born to Donalda Bertheume and William LeMay. She graduated from St. Stephens High School in Worcester, Mass and Beth Israel Hospital School of Nursing in Boston, Mass. She joined the Navy Nurse Corps during the Korean War and was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida and Charleston South Carolina. When discharged from the nurse corps she received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Catholic University College of Nursing in Washington D.C. and a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from Teachers College Columbia University, New York.
Following graduation from Columbia she accepted a position with the Arabic American Oil Company in Saudi Arabia, as a nursing instructor. She met her future husband, James, in Saudi Arabia. She returned to the United States and they were married in Worcester, Mass on October 15, 1959.
The Moore’s lived in the Washington D.C. area following their marriage. She was employed as a nursing instructor at the Washington Hospital Center School of Nursing and Georgetown University College of Nursing.
Her two children Beth Ann Moore (George) and James Edward Moore III were born. The Moore’s relocated to Arizona in 1966. She accepted a position as a Public Health Nursing Consultant with the State Department of Health Services. In this position she was concerned with all aspects of healthcare in hospitals and nursing homes, certified or seeking certification for participation in the Medicare Program. She later was appointed to several administrative positions including Bureau of Chief of the Offices of Health Care Facilities Licensing and Certification, Long Term Care and ______ Day Care. She retired from the Department of Health Services in April 1989.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, James, and her son-in-law, Bradley Gene George. She is survived by her daughter Beth Ann George and her children, Taylor, Max and Bennett and her son James Moore III, his wife Tatyana and their son Alexsei. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews which she just adored.
