Carol Ann Bowles

Carol grew up in Van Nuys, California, graduating from Birmingham High School in 1964. Carol married Jim Bowles in 1967, living at various Air Force bases in Alaska and California before moving to the Phoenix area in 1972, and to Moon Valley in 1978. Carol’s greatest joy were her three children, Bridjet, Brady, and Brett. She adored being a mother and grandmother; her family meant everything to her. She beamed with pride at their accomplishments and successes.

Carol dedicated her life to caring for young children. In the early 1980s Carol began working as a daycare provider out of her home, running an after-school program for elementary school students. Once her own children were grown, Carol started “Nanny on Wheels,” extending her daycare business to nights and weekends. Carol became a teacher at Shadow Rock Preschool and loved working there for the past fourteen years. “Miss Carol” touched the lives of many Moon Valley residents, both young and old. She always made you feel as if you and your children were a part of her family.

Carol is survived by her sons; Brady (Jennifer) of Laguna Niguel, CA and Brett (Dawn) of Phoenix, AZ; her grandchildren, Aidan (17), Olivia (16), Andrew (15), Julia (14), and Ava (5); her sisters, Debby Hayter and Sharon Ledin; as well as three nieces and a nephew. Carol was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Bridjet, who died on May 21, 2020.
