Cecilia Ann (Williams) Ferrin, of Phoenix, AZ; died 15 June 2019 at the age of 71 years old in Scottsdale, AZ of non-alcoholic cirrhosis. Cecilia was born at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, AZ on 24 May 1948 to her beloved parents Robert E Lee and Pauline Thulamae (Phillips) Williams. She was the third child in a family of four children, including: Gary Lee, deceased (Jacqueline Counts); Linda Ellen (Robert Gannon); and Robert Dee, deceased. She married her sweetheart, Gregory Leven Ferrin on 17 November 1967 in the Mesa Arizona Temple. She loved, raised and taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ to her four children: Leah, Amy Diane, Rebecca Alice (John) Bowler, and Peter Jonathan (Dreia Norris) and her eight grandchildren: Savannah Alice Bowler, Abigail Grace Bowler, Sarah Brooklyn Bowler, Gavin Baylin Ferrin, Zoe Elise Ferrin, Connor Mac Ferrin, Kiera Reese Ferrin, Ryan Thorston Ferrin.
Cecilia attended school in Phoenix and graduated from Carl Hayden High School. While attending Phoenix College, she worked for Mountain Bell as an Information Operator. After getting married and moving to Tucson, AZ, she continued working at Mountain Bell for a short time as a Chief Operator’s Clerk. She became a stay-at-home mother and devoted her time to raising her children and serving others. Grandchildren brought new meaning and great joy to her life. Each one was special to her.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in the Relief Society, Young Women’s and Primary organizations. She enjoyed teaching, fellowshipping, and sharing her testimony of her love of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was creative and thoughtful as she created teaching materials for her children and the individuals she taught. Opportunities to teach spurred her creativity and hobbies of sewing, crafts, crocheting, and quilt making. The project, Dress an Angel, gave her the unique opportunity of introducing the program to the Relief Society women in the Paradise Valley Stake. These doll-sized clothes helped mourning parents of babies who died prematurely, to have an outfit and a blanket to wrap their babies in when they were buried. Through her efforts, many clothes and quilts were made and donated to local Valley hospitals.
She was devoted and loving to her parents and her brother, Robert Dee, throughout their lives. She spent long hours helping to care for them. Her dedication was an example to her children of how to serve and treat others who are suffering. Cecilia was a constant servant to others and her time was never wasted in this effort. She was often stopped by others needing assistance, or just an ear to listen to their woes. She radiated an energy that attracted the lonely, friendless, mourning, helpless, or suffering to her. She would listen and give comfort and help them on their way. Her humor and self-effacing manner endeared her to all who knew her.
Memorial Service in her honor will be held Friday June 21st at 11:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 3601 E Shea Blvd, Phoenix, AZ 85028
Cecilia will be interned in the Mesa City Cemetery, on 21 June 2019 in Mesa, AZ.
