Christine Carufel-Aguilar, 71, lost her painful battle with Gallbladder Cancer. She was born and raised on the Salt River Indian Reservation in the Phoenix Metro area. She was a proud Tribal member of the Lac Du Flambeau tribe of Ojibwe (Chippewa) Indians of the North Woods of Wisconsin. Christine was a strong woman of faith, and we know she was welcomed into the loving arms of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.
Christine was a caretaker. She was so generous and giving, always helping people and animals in need. Her Life's Work was raising her daughter Rachel, whom she made the center of her universe. Christine lived with the motto “Work to live, don't live to work” and preferred to spend her time with family and loved ones, enjoying the simple things in life.
Christine loved thrifting, and shopped for Old Lady Things, unique glassware, anything cats or Victorian. She loved making and selling jewelry, and sold it at the Lura Turner Craft Fair annually for over a decade.
Christine is survived by her daughter Rachel “Rae” (Seth) Snow, and her Sisters-in-Law Carol Kappelmann and Thea Carufel, niece Elizabeth, and too many Aguilars to list individually. She also leaves behind her dog Todo, and cats Perky and Lil Dog. Predeceasing her are her father and mother, Raymond and Ruth Carufel, and her brothers, Steve (Carol) & Bob (Thea) Carufel.
Christine’s viewing is on Thursday, April 30th from 5pm to 8pm.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 1st at 12 pm.
