

Connie Marie (Swenson) Harber died April 27, 2012 at
her home in Phoenix, AZ. Connie was born on March
3rd, 1950, in Fargo, ND. She was the daughter of Patricia
M. (Stedje) Swenson and Orval R. Swenson. For the
first seven years of her life she lived with her parents
and her grandpa, Peder Nels Stedje, on their farm near
Hettinger, ND. Her Family moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1957.
She attended Creighton and Papago elementary schools
and East High School. She was in the graduating class
of 1968 at East High School (EHS) where she was active
in band and drama. She played saxophone in the EHS
marching band and had rolls in several EHS drama productions.
After graduating from East High, Connie worked as a nurse’s aide.
She met and married Darrel Franklin Harber on March, 1974, in Phoenix AZ;
they were married for 15 years. After Connie’s divorce, she met her close
friend Brian Daniel Corrigan. They became the proud parents of Brian Scott
Corrigan (the love of her life) in 1994. Connie continued her education
throughout her life; earning an Associate of Arts degree from Phoenix College in 1984 and most recently, 2010, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Phoenix. Connie
also attended Charis Bible College. Connie loved God, and enjoyed singing
praises to Him. She loved to sing together with the Living Water church choir
as well as her many family and friends. Connie loved life in many ways, music
(especially musicals, books and concerts). She also loved to travel, making
trips to Europe and the Middle East as well as many parts of the United
States. She loved to travel and vacation with her many family and friends.
She had many fond memories of Lake Powell trips with family and friends.
She especially enjoyed the holidays, when she would share her love, through
her generous giving, to family, friends and anyone in need. She loved to play
pinochle and scrabble and loved to laugh. You could pick her out of a crowd
of 100 people by her laughter. Connie enjoyed her job as Pulmonary Technician
for Cigna Medical Group of Arizona where she was employed for 25
years. Connie had many friends at Cigna and will be greatly missed. Connie
had a passion for the American Heart Association and was instrumental in
getting contributions to their fund drives each year. Connie was named Employee
of the year by the Cigna Medical Group. Connie is preceded in death
by her Grandparents, Carl and Charlotte Swenson and Peder and Nora Stedje;
her parents, Orval and Patricia Swenson and her brother Gaylon P. Swenson.
Connie is survived by her son, Brian S. Corrigan, close friend, Dan Corrigan,
four brothers and their wives; Norlyn and Patty Swenson, Bismarck, ND; Guy
and Virginia Swenson, Scottsdale, AZ; Owen and Barbara Swenson, Phoenix,
AZ and Casey and Carol Swenson, Paradise Valley, AZ and one step-brother
Kent and Sue Weishann, Lincoln, NE. She also has seven nieces and nephews and
four great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 5:00 PM to 9:00
PM, Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in Green Acres Chapel of Light located at 401
N. Hayden Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85257. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday,
May 2, 2012 at Living Water Lutheran Church located at 9201 E. Happy Valley Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85255. Burial will take place on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 following church services at Green Acres Cemetery located at 401 N. Hayden Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85257. Donations may be made to American Heart Association or Living Water Lutheran Church.
