Curtis Geiogamah, 86, passed away surrounded by his family on August 11, 2014. Curtis was born on July 3, 1928 in Mountain View, Oklahoma near Sugar Creek. Curtis worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs for 42 years. He began as a clerk in Billings, Montana in 1949, worked in the Anadarko, Oklahoma and Gallup, New Mexico Area Offices and rose to become a Director of the Phoenix BIA Area Office in 1972. But by far his most important assignment came after retirement in 1991. He became forever known as "Grandpa" to all his family and everyone he met. For over 23 years Grandpa never missed any activities or celebrations his grandchildren and great-grandchildren took part in. He was selfless and lovingly supported all his children and made them the focus of his caring attention. Everyone he met he touched with friendliness and charm and he never let a chance go by to tell people how proud he was of his family. We will all miss his love, guidance and most importantly his gentle wisdom that he blessed us with. He was married to his wife Julia for over 60 years and he missed her very much during the past 3 years. He is survived by his children, Linda (Gabe), Richard (Heidi), Steve (Claudia), grandchildren Alysa (Aaron), Michael (Jessica), Crystal Dawn (Matt), Mary (Josh), Matthew (Natalie), Frank, Rachel and 6 great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Madison, Kaylin, Isabella, Luke and Isaiah. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Green Acres Mortuary. Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 AM, August 15, 2014 in Green Acres Chapel of Light, 401 N. Hayden Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85257. Family requests that flowers or in lieu of flowers donations to Central Presbyterian Church, 37 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85012 www.greenacresmortuary.net
