She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.
On May 30, 1958 she was married to Mack S. Rice, Jr. in Mississippi and they enjoyed 50 wonderful years together until his passing in 2008. They are reunited in heaven under God's grace and care.
She had an early career in bookkeeping and spent 20 years as office manager and chiropractic assistant for her son, Kurt. Retiring in 2010 she spent the rest of her life being a proud grandmother to her only grandchild, Konnor.
She passed away peacefully on July 19, 2020 with son Kurt and daughter-in-law Debbie by her side.
To EJ, family meant everything. She is survived by 2 sons: Eldon R. Smith, Jr. (Patty) and Kurt G. von Rice (Debbie); 1 grandson, Konnor; 2 sisters, Nora Millwee and Bertie Desmond; as well as numerous nieces, great nieces and nephews.
