Fred was the only son of Robert and Velma Fulton. He was born on July 14th 1937, a AZ native . He grew up playing cowboys and never lost his love for gun collecting and western movies. Especially John Wayne. He loved to fish, hunt with a bow, and camp. He attended college when ASU was a community college, took a Survey Class that actually surveyed ASU for the football stadium. Graduated with a BA in Education after ASU became a University. He met Beulah Gregory and said she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen… so beautiful he decided throwing rocks at her feet would get her attention. Apparently it worked because they were married soon after and stayed married until her death in 2022. Not to be forgotten that Fred never missed a single chance to remind Beulah that she was his Babydoll, and the most beautiful girl he had ever seen… literally to the day she passed.
Fred and Beulah had two beautiful daughters Tami who was born In 1961 and Tina in 1963. The girls immediately became the best part of their lives eventually giving them grandkids and great grandkids who Fred and Beulah arguably loved even more! (Says their grandkids)
Fred taught for a year and then had the opportunity to go into the trucking business with his father. Fulton Trucking Co. hauled materials that were needed to build most the highways in AZ. He and his wife traveled with the girls and stayed on the job sites, which was hard on Beulah making a home for her family wherever they were. But his daughters loved living in the outdoors and some of their best memories were made traveling. The girls learned so much and really grew to be best friends during all of this. Fred definitely taught his two daughters all he knew about the outdoors and Arizona.
After Fred retired he and his wife enjoyed their home. He loved Beulah’s cooking and the fact that she could put on her wedding dress on every wedding anniversary. They enjoyed yard sale hopping on the weekends, watching their grandchildren's sporting events and weekend slumber parties. Their grandkids will never forget their midnight snacks or grandpa’s favorite rocking chair. They will even miss his funny noises as he tickled them walking by.
Fred worked hard, always put his family first, and was a good man. He made sure everyone was always taken care of no matter the cost to him. He never missed a celebration or game and never missed the chance to support his family. He always loved to travel. The family spent time in Virginia on his in-law’s farm as often as they could. As a child Fred would fish in Mexico with his parents and he loved to snorkel and spearfish. He got the chance to ocean fish again with his daughter Tina's family as well as going on an Alaskan Cruise with Tina and her husband… that was probably the trip of his life!
When his wife got really ill and had to move into an Assisted Living Facility and Fred moved in with his daughter Tami and Arthur. This was first time since Fred retired that him and Beulah weren't sleeping and waking up together in the same home. (Although Tami did get a little bit of childhood back with having her dad back in the home.) The family made sure Fred and Beulah were taken out to dinner every Sunday and noticed it was like they were dating again. They both looked forward all week to their Sunday dinners together. They laughed, relived special memories and definitely joked and teased. It was so enjoyable watching them so happy. Beulah made Fred promise to continue to walk and he did every morning on his walker around the whole neighborhood block until he passed on May 25th 2023.
Fred leaves behind his daughter Tami and her fiancé Arthur Miner, his younger daughter Tina Bernick and her husband/son in law Dave Bernick, his granddaughter Vanesha, grandson Tanner Fulton German and his fiancé Hayley, granddaughter Taylor her husband Jonathan, granddaughter Teagan, great-granddaughter's Skyla and Farynn and great-grandson’s Rylan and Camdyn.
