I'm really not quite sure what to say other than that I'm stunned. I attended Chaparral High School with Gregg and Gary and was involved in youth group with Gregg.  He was the guy who always had a plan, always knew what should be done and how to get it done.  A lot of us relied on him to be the "answer man." My best to his family.

I met Gregg through my friend Jennifer (Sander) Fry many years ago at the U of A.  He was a truly exceptional person and I felt honored to know him.

I am so saddened by his passing and your loss.  My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.  God bless.

I just learned of Gregg's passing and am heartbroken for you all.  My entire family is praying for you.  

Julie, my younger sister's husband passed away 8 years ago.  If you need someone to talk to who has been through a similar loss, she would be happy to listen.  I would, too.  Although I didn't know you, I imagine that you are a strong and loving woman.  I have faith that your strength, the love you give and the love you are willing to accept is helping you to move forward each day.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the whole Alpert family.  I was a year ahead of Gregg at Chaparral High and was a close friend to his brother Gary during high school but Gregg was always a positive presence whenever he was around.  I am sorry for your loss.

Julie -I know some time has passed, but the heart ache is still there daily. Time doesn't heal, but it helps you cope and find strength; and i pray for that for you daily. From years ago when I met him at U of A, to crossing paths again at Hopi, Gregg was always such a great guy, and you were blessed to have shared your life and your beautiful family with him. I pray that God keeps you strong through all the struggles of the day and that you will lean on friends when needed, always, through the years.

He had a smile that would light me up. A great sense of humor and a nose for fun. I personally never experienced a bad wrinkle in his character. I had the the privilege and the pleasure of knowing Gregg over the last 5 years. We began our relationship through business and Evergreen and Avatar became joint venture partners for a development in southern Arizona.  Although I am sure you are going to hear this from many people, Gregg, in addition to being a bright and astute businessman was a true mensch. Our business relationship grew into a friendship and he will surely be missed by all. My sincere condolences to all of you

Gregg was loved and gave love.  Our prayers and sympathies are with his family.

It's such a tragedy anytime someone so obviously in their prime dies.  I knew Gregg only casually.  We had frequent contact, but we were both busy with our own families and activities and had little opportunity to really know each other.  Still, Gregg's death has had a tremendous impact on me just thinking about what his family will be missing that nobody can ever replace.  The loss for Julie - losing her partner to grow old with...  The loss for Will - not having his dad available to show him how to be a good man, a good husband, and a good dad... The loss for Sara and Kate - not having an example in their life of the kind of man they should look for to start their own families.   I don't cry often, but I've cried deeply for the Alpert's loss.

My prayers are with his family.  May they find the love and support they need to guide them through these tough times.  And may their friends and family keep the Alpert's loss in their hearts and help them through the years.

I will miss my old friend Gregg. We shared the best of times in High School and in BBYO. He made a difference in so many peoples lives. He is the "candle" that lights all the other candles.

If words could heal, we would fill the page.  The comfort we can give, although insufficient, is the abundant love and good will the communitiy has for this beautiful family.

I had the pleasure of knowing Gregg at Chaparral and U of A.  He was a true gentleman.  How blessed my life has been to have been touch by Gregg's friendship.  He lit up a room with his kind and loving heart.  He will be greatly missed.  May his family and friends be comforted by beautiful memories that he created with each of them.

There is nothing any of us can say or do to replace the years you should have had with Gregg.  The outpouring of love and attention you've seen over the past few days from family and friends, however, should give you comfort that you have help to make it though this tough time, and that your family and friends will continue to be there to support you all and do all that we can to help your family over the coming years.  

The silver lining in this dark cloud is to highlight for you the love and support you have around you.  For the rest of us, Gregg's passing is a reminder of why we should live life right - love your spouse, love your kids, and love your friends.

My deepest sympathies to the four of you for your loss, and my deepest pledge to be there for your family, not just this month or next month, but the years after that.

I was in the same fraternity as Gregg at the University of Arizona and was good friends with him for a time before I moved out of state after college and had not seen him since.  He was a true leader during the time I knew him. As I expected, it seems to have carried on to his professional life.  What also seems to have carried on was his humility and sense of humour (I shared plenty of laughs with Gregg).

I applaud his successes, he deserved it.

I thought our paths might cross again some day, I feel a profound sense of loss that will not happen in this life.

I've known Gregg since high school at Chaparral. We were fraternity brothers at the U of A. I haven't really kept in touch over the years, and yet its hard to convey the profound sadness that struck me when I heard of his passing. Gregg was the guy you wanted to be when you grew up. I take some comfort in knowing that his way of treating people and looking at life has been passed on to his beautiful children and that he will live in their hearts forever. Sounds a little corny, I guess - I think Gregg would have laughed - but I believe it. God bless.

Although I did not know Gregg on a personal level, I know many people who did. He was a staple in the Real Estate community and obviously a tremendous family man and professional. My thoughts and prayers to his wife, childern, family and friends. God Bless

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Bill it is truly amazing, isn't it?  Sometimes amazing is not fun to experience.  But it seems I wake up thinking today will be just like yesterday.  Mostly it is.  But every now and then a "today" comes along not like any "yesterday" and Saturday was such a day.  Now Greg is gone, just like we all will be one day.  Carpe diem.

I had the pleasure of working with Gregg at Evergreen for 6.5 years.  He taught me to work hard but we also had many fun times and I feel fortunate to have known him.  He was an inspiring man who cared deeply for his family and friends. Gregg will be missed very much.  I send my deepest sympathy, love and strength to Julie and the kids.

Gregg was an inspiration to all who met him. His presence will be missed greatly but his legacy will go on in the lives of those he inspired to be better poeple.

Having lived next door to the Alpert family for the last 8 years, I saw firsthand Gregg's extraordinary love and devotion to his family.   Gregg's exuberance and love of life was ever present.  He had a kindness and caring nature not often found, never failing to offer a greeting, a smile or helping hand.  My heart aches for Julie and for Will, Sarah and Kate.  Thank God for your wonderful family and huge network of friends who will provide the support and love you need.  Lean on us during these times.  Saying my prayers for you all.

We met in kindergarden in Calabasas. We met again at Chaparral High. You said Yearbook class was all girls.  That was the only time you steered me wrong.  After UofA I would later admire all the good you have done. Gregg, you left this world a better place.  I was honored to have known you.

Gregg - a true gentleman with a kind heart. I remember you from long ago and you said how much you wanted a wife and family. And you found exactly what you wanted.God bless your family. I know you'll be with them always.

My heart is heavy after learning of the loss of Gregg. I was lucky enough to be a part of the Evergreen family and truly believe Gregg believed in creating a better world.  He was energetic and caring as well as a wonderful teacher.  He lit up when he talked about his kids and his dear Julie.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this tough time.  Will, Sarah and Kate, I hope we can all tell you about what a wonderful person your dad was and even better, show you how he taught us to respect others and treat everyone as if they were your friend from the first moment you met them. What a tragic loss.  I feel privileged to have been a part of the Evergreen family and to have known Gregg.  Working in the Glendale office, I unfortunately had only limited contact with him.  However, I will always remember his outgoing personality, great sense of humor, and caring attitude toward others.  I was shocked to hear about Gregg's passing, and for the first time see a downside to the family atmosphere that he helped foster at Evergreen; when you lose someone it really feels like you have lost a member of your own family. I was deeply saddened by the passing of Gregg.  My deepest condolences go out to his family. Gregg was truely an outstanding person that had the ability to positively influence anyone he was around.  I had the great priviledge of having him as one of my pledge fathers in our fraternity.  He was a tremendous influence upon me and upon all of us that were fortunate to spend quality time with him.

Like my sister, I met Gregg through my brother, Will Case.  I am saddened by the loss of such a fine, young man who was loved by all who came in contact with him.  My heartfelt condolences to his wife, children and family.

Although I didn't really know Gregg, I had the pleasure of meeting him many years ago at my brother's wedding. My brother, Will Case, and Gregg were roommates at the University of Arizona. I knew Gregg to be a stellar individual who cared deeply for his family and his community. My brother always spoke of Gregg with great admiration and affection.  Gregg's death is a terrible shock and an immeasureable loss to all who knew and loved him.  My sincerest condolences to his wife, his three children and to his entire family.

Life is truly a precious yet fleeting event. Something that we all take for granted until you lose someone you love.  Gregg was truly a special person in so many ways. I know that he postively influenced everybody whom he encountered. His heart and spirit will live on in his beautiful family as well as others like myself.  He was truly a brother and a friend.  May his family find peace during this very difficult time.  They are in my thoughts and prayers.

I met Gregg very briefly many years ago at my brother's wedding.  Gregg and my brother, Will Case, roomed together at the U of A. I knew Gregg to be a wonderful man, husband and father. My brother always spoke very fondly of Gregg and told me numerous times how much he admired Gregg and the life he lived. His death is a terrible shock and an even greater loss - My sincerest condolences to Gregg's wife and children and to all of those who loved Gregg so very much.

We met Gregg in the late 80s when he moved into the condo near us at the Pointe at South Mountain.   We thought so highly of him that we asked him to walk me down the aisle when Dale and I got married in 1991.   And we were thrilled when he found and married Julie - two wonderful, exceptional people had found each other.   Gregg touched many lives as friend, neighbor, father, brother, son, business partner...he had many roles...but in each he displayed the same candor and generosity that made him Gregg.   We will miss you...

We were shocked and saddened by the news of Gregg's passing.  But we are inspired by the life that he lived and the example that he set in his daily life.  Gregg was one of the finest individuals I've known.  His love for his family and community was evident in everything he did.  He was generous, kind, and hard working.  I learned much from observing Gregg in the 4 years I worked for him.  Our condolences go out to his precious family.  You are in our prayers.
