Irene loved her family, enjoyed life, and had a unique and infectious laugh. She was a wonderful wife and the consummate mother and grandmother. To know her was to love her. She will be sorely missed by her husband (Adam), son (Mark), daughter (Leslie), daughter-in-law (Monica), grandchildren (Benjamin, Jonah and Maya), and many who called her a friend.
Irene was born in Ghent, Belgium on September 25, 1938 to a Jewish family. She and her parents immigrated to Canada in 1942 to escape the Nazis. Irene grew up in Toronto and became a respected mathematics teacher.
She met Adam in Israel in 1963 while playing bridge, and they were married in Haifa that same year. Adam and Irene made their first home in Toronto Canada. Adam and Irene moved from Toronto, Canada to Phoenix with their kids in 1978. In Phoenix, Irene founded and ran an art consulting company for over 35 years.
Irene was an exceptional bridge player. She played almost every weekday. She also loved art, music, and playing tennis.
Irene will be sorely missed. Rest in peace, dear Irene!
