Jean was born on January 16, 1938 in Manchester England to John and Margaret Ross. In 1959 Jean passed her nursing exams at St George's Hospital, London. At Southmead Hospital, Bristol she practiced midwifery, riding to patients' homes on bicycles. In 1963 Jean responded to the United States call for nurses from England. Shortly thereafter, she and a nursing friend found themselves working in a Houston Texas hospital. Both Jean and her friend, adventuresome by nature, soon left Houston for San Francisco. En route they stopped in Phoenix Arizona. And as fate would have it, Phoenix is where they both remained.
On September 1st, 1967 Jean married Robert Russell Frankeberger. They raised two daughters, Nicole Jean and Lisa Jane. Nicole predeceased Jean, passing on January 21st, 1991 at the age of 22. Jean is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert, their daughter, Lisa, her sister Margaret , brother Ian and nieces Sarah, Karen and Katherine and nephews Stuart and John.
