John Wayne Floyd, age 69, passed away on the morning of June 5, 2025, during his morning commute. He was on his regular phone call with his eldest son, Jesse, when we believe he passed peacefully. First responders from the Sheriff’s Office and EMT team, along with the dedicated medical staff at Desert Samaritan, did everything they could to bring him back. We are deeply grateful for their efforts — and especially to his wife, Leeanne, who came upon the accident on her way to work and remained by his side.
John was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico, on November 13, 1955, and moved to Arizona as a young child, where he spent the next 66 years of his life. He married his high school sweetheart, Leeanne, whom he began dating when she was a freshman in high school. Together, they built a life grounded in love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Though they believed they still had many more years together, their time was tragically cut short.
John spent much of his life managing Bradley Electric, a company he co-owned with his brother, Bradley. Their shared dedication and partnership built a respected business that faithfully served the community for many years. The success of the company also reflected the strong bond between them and the incredible team of employees who helped shape it.
Outside of work, John found peace and happiness on two wheels. His second love and his favorite way to decompress was taking long motorcycle rides with friends. Those rides were more than just a hobby; they were moments of joy, freedom, and deep connection, where John felt most at ease and alive.
John was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Leeanne; his sons, Jesse and Justin; and his grandchildren, Alexandra, Kayla, and Bradyn. He is also survived by his brother, Bradley; his sister, Becky; his dear Aunt Dot; and many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service to honor John’s life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Green Acres Mortuary, located at 401 N Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85257.
