Our precious son, Joshua Vander Kamp 31, of Mesa, Arizona was born in Hayward, Wisconsin. He moved to Arizona when he was only 2 months old. We often said he was "technically an Arizona Native. From the time he was a baby he was into sports. He was swimming at age 2 and went off the lower high dive at Eldorado Park pool after his swimming lessons. He loved to swim. When he was in grade school he played basketball and started out with t-ball and that was the start of his love for baseball. He was a great left-handed pitcher. Then came Little League and he was always drafted up. His teams went on to State when he was young. When he got to High School, he became an awesome lead pitcher for Westwood High. He pitched some no-hitters and won many games for the team. He got a baseball scholarship to Phoenix College and had scouts looking at him. Josh continue to play ball for years with city teams.
After baseball his love for fishing kicked in. He caught some of the biggest fish you've ever seen. He and his dad and brother would take the boat out and go night fishing for crappies and stay out til morning. Fishing the canals was next....the biggest biggest fish and then there was the GIANT catfish. He loved catfishing off the pier at Canyon Lake. .
Josh loved the outdoors and that is why he loved doing Landscaping. He attended Mission Church in Gilbert.
On October 10, 2009 Josh married the love of his life, Katy, in Las Vegas. They brought two beautiful precious babies into this world. Paige now 7 years old and Layton (Buddy) now 4.years old. He loved his babies more than anything and they loved their daddy so much. They both take after Josh for their love of baseball. They loved playing with him...cards, catch and just wrestling and playing on the floor. They will miss him dearly, but he will be watching down on them everyday of their lives.
