

Ramsey , Kenneth Charles Father, Brother, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Uncle, Kenneth Charles Ramsey, age 92 of Mesa, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2015 at Banner Gardens Hospice House. He was born to the late Annie Ramsey and Robert Gentry Ramsey on March 10, 1923 in Fredricktown, Missouri. Kenneth married his princess, Stella Wood Ramsey, on November 4, 1944, in Ironton Missouri. Married for 68 years, their love for each other was evident to all. He spent his working career as a foreman of weapon systems for 20 years at Williams Air Force Base and as an equipment mechanic at Motorola for 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion William Bloys Post 2 in Tempe where he was named the oldest living Past Commander, White Mountain Masonic Lodge 3 in Globe where he was named Master Mason in 1984, VFW Chapter 3632 Bob Finch Post, and DAV East Valley Chapter 8. He served in the US Navy as a First Class Petty Officer for ET, STS, and FT. He obtained the rank of Machinist's Mate First Class in US Navy's engineering community. He served in WWII from 1940-1944 as a Deep Sea Diver First Class in San Diego then aboard the USS Curtiss AV-4, as well as Pearl Harbor in 1941 aboard the USS Curtiss. Kenneth is survived by his son, Chuck Ramsey (wife Debbie Ramsey); two grandchildren, Douglas Ramsey and Jenna Helser (husband Chad Helser); great-grandson Rylan Helser; and sister, Jessamine Devaney. Kenneth is preceded in death by his son, Frank Ramsey;wife, Stella Ramsey, parents; and eight siblings. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to The Salvation Army National Headquarters, P.O. Box 269, Alexandria, VA 22314. A viewing will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 11:00, with a memorial service to follow at 12 at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale.
