Lucille Doris Ballard 93, daughter of Wanda (Collins) and Lovell Lewis, went peacefully into the loving arms of the Lord Friday, September 17, 2010. Lucille left this world as she lived in it, surrounded by her close knit family. Lucille gave unselfishly of herself to all she knew. She asked for little, and always gave grand. Lucille was born in 1916 in Jamestown, KS where she met her love of 53 years, Andrew Ballard. They moved to Arizona in 1956 where they settled and raised their family. Lucille's biggest accomplishment and greatest treasure was her family. Her compassionate heart, warm smile, hearty soups, fluffy pancakes, and homemade chocolates endeared all to want to stay near, and she never spent a day without entertaining several rounds of family members or friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Andrew, brother, Clyde Lewis of Concordia, KS. She is survived by her children; Rhea Sack (Ken), Ronnie Ballard (Susie), Cheryl Dyer-Keenan (Tom), Phil Dyer, grandchildren; Tami Cone, Teri (Cone) Nickerson, Dean Ballard (Marianne), Kelly (Ballard) Vaupell (Chris), Cristi (Dyer) Youngkin (Harry), Ryan Dyer (Penny), Shawn (Dyer) Ducusin (James), Kevin Keenan, Great-grandchildren; Zachary, Mackenzie Nickerson, Tyler Cone, Alexa, Miles, Conner Youngkin, Madison, Sydney Vaupell, Jackson Ducusin, Drew Ballard, siblings; Maxine Kelly (Ross) of Glasco, KS and Bill Lewis of McPherson, KS and sister-in-law Beatrice Lewis of Concordia, KS. Grandma, you held us all close for just a while, but you will hold our hearts forever. Until we see you again you will forever be greatly loved and missed! Visitation held at 6:00 PM, Friday, September 24, 2010 in Green Acres Mortuary. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 25, 2010 in Green Acres Chapel of Light located at 401 N.
