Mahin Farahmand, 94, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away peacefully under hospice care on March 28, 2025, and entered into the presence of her Lord. Born on March 21, 1931, in Khoramabad, Southern Province of Khuzestan, Iran, Mahin lived a remarkable life marked by resilience, love, and generosity.
Affectionately known as our "lioness Mama," Mahin was a devoted wife to her late husband, Kalil, and a nurturing mother to her children. Her strength shone through as she faced life's greatest challenges with unwavering courage. In May 2008, at the age of 77, Mahin embraced Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, a milestone that defined her later years.
Mahin’s passions included her legendary long walks—often exceeding 10 miles—her exceptional culinary skills, the art of crochet, and her warm hospitality. She had an unmatched talent for herb gardening, cultivating beauty and flavor with every plant she tended.
She leaves behind a cherished legacy in her children Iradj, Bahman, Azar, Azita, Azadeh (Steve), and Bahram.; her grandchildren Margaret, Soroosh, Mahmoud, Marjan, Iradj Jr., and Farah Morgan; her great-grandchildren Acacia, Devlyn, Margit, Darius, Magnus, and Karen Marie and her great-great-grandchild Lillith. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kalil Farahmand and her son Bahman Farahmand.
May Mama rest in eternal peace. A celebration of life gathering will be held on April 26, 2025 at 2:30PM-4:30PM, at 6620 Briar Ridge Ln, Plano Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Elam Ministries (https://www.elam.com/give) to honor our mother’s memory and support Iranians, a cause close to her heart.
