

She was the daughter of William Luke Sr. and Margaret (Olive) Hoff and was born in Everett, Massachusetts. Her family relocated to California where she graduated from Anaheim High school in 1958. She met and married John (Jack) Mann Jr. in Orange California on January 17, 1959. They started their family while in California. In addition to being a loving mother of three Marilyn worked various jobs until finding her career as a professional cake decorator for Smitty’s and eventually retired from Fry’s in 2006.
In retirement they moved to Pueblo Sereno retirement community where she loved playing cards, participating in the local “Stitch and Bitch” group, and enjoying events with friends at the club house. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Marilyn was a devoted servant of Christ and member of the New Life Community Church in Scottsdale AZ, She volunteered her time helping in the nursery, Awana and Vacation Bible School. She also participated in multiple bible studies. She shared her faith until the last moments on this earth. Marilyn will always be fondly remembered for sharing her “God Moments”; recognizing when God is vividly near. She also had a special way to hug her grandchildren called “Squeezy bear hugs”.
Marilyn was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and wife. She is survived by sons Randy (Polly) of Cottonwood, Scott of Scottsdale and daughter Julie Owen (David) of Tempe; 6 grandchildren: Jessica, Jordon, Skyler, Haley, Sean Owen and Taylor Owen; Brother Robert (Bob) Luke and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 57 years and siblings Bill Luke and Arlene Arnold.
She is loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her as a kindhearted, strong, and loving woman.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 10:30am at New Life Community Church, 2500 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85257.
