

She died at the age of 95 on December 8, 2021 in Phoenix, Arizona at Mariposa Point at Algodon Center. Mary was one of five sisters that include Betty Mundy, Darlene Curtis, Linda Warren, and Letha Orban.
Mary and William Elfgen were married in Alton, Illinois in 1948. Their surviving children are Ronald Eugene Elfgen who resides in Payson, Arizona, spouse Audie Emery Elfgen, and Carolyn Elfgen Irving, spouse Howard Lee Irving, who reside in Birmingham, Alabama. William died on October 27, 1990 after 5 years onset of Lou Gehrig's disease. Mary later married Denton Kindler who departed this life on July 30, 2014 and is survived by his son, James Kindler and granddaughter, Stephanie Irving Dameron.
Mary enjoyed working as a secretary for Marriott hotels during her marriage to William and later worked alongside Denton in a Phoenix Flower Shop creating beautiful floral arrangements. One of her greatest loves was the cabin she and William bought in Bear Flat, Arizona where they loved to fish and enjoy the beauty of the mountains, steams, and animals. They cherished the friendships they made with residents of Bear Flat. Mary especially enjoyed meeting weekly with a group of friends to play dominoes and share lunch. She loved baking cookies and pies for the group and local firefighters.
Visitation and Funeral service is from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery at 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, Arizona 85257.
