Matthew was born in Calgary, Alberta Canada. He enjoyed growing up visiting his Grandparents in Penticton, BC and his Grandparent’s family farm in Central Alberta. Chef Matt was a well known figure in the Arizona culinary scene for many years and for 5 years in Vancouver British Columbia. Many will know him for his excellence and creativity in the Kitchen where he loved to be.
Much more than being an unbelievable Chef, Matt was a wonderful person full of humor, extremely kind, and generous. He loved to be in the Kitchen, He loved to be in Nature and above all he loved to be with family and friends. He had a way with words, spoken and written, a gift for prose.
With his many talents and achievements perhaps his most important characteristic is that he was a genuinely humble person.
He was greatly loved and will be terribly missed by his family and many many friends.
In lieu of flowers, Matthew's family requests that donations be made to Feed the Children in his honor.
In an interview Matt was once asked , If you could change anything in the world what would it be. His answer: “That’s a loaded question, but even in our own state there is a lot of kids going hungry every night, so I would like to see that change."
