I’m so sad to find this! Maureen was my nurse at the VA in Phoenix when I first started working there, fresh from medical residency. She was so supportive, joyful and always with a smile in her face. She used to call me Cris. She will be sincerely missed. May she rest in peace, as the sky becomes brighter with one more beautiful star… goodbye, Maureen.

I don't even know where to begin.  I recently learned of Maureen's passing and was shocked and saddened.  Maureen and I worked as RN's in the Platinum Clinic at the Phoenix VAMC in the mid 1990s.  She was an absolute delight to work with.  Maureen used to come into my officer almost daily.  Many times to just ask how my day was going or to ask if I needed help with anything.  Often, it was to discuss her grandchildren or her plans to see her children and grandchildren.  On occasion she'd bring in sales papers and share all of the things she was going to purchase for different grandchildren.  There was never a doubt that she adored all of her grandchildren.  When I was facing a sudden surgery, not knowing if it was cancer, it was Maureen who came into my office to offer words of hope and encouragement.  She was one of the funniest nurses I'd ever worked with.  All the clinic staff could depend on Maureen for a good chuckle!  I remember how hard my decision to transfer from the Platinum Clinic to a VA clinic closer to my home was.  In a huge part because I knew I was working with an outstanding team of nurses and doctors.  It was especially hard to walk away from working with this fine lady and awesome nurse.  Recently I found Maureen on Facebook and reached out to her regarding the passing of another VA nurse.  She invited me to join she and another nurse (Evelyn R.) for lunch in March.  Unfortunately I was going to be in Prescott on that date and had to decline.  Today, I regret not being able to make that lunch date.  How I would loved to have spent a few more hours with the wonderful woman talking about our families and hearing all of her stories about kids, grandkids and great grandkids.  I know all of the stories would have included loads of laughs, as they always had in the past!  

I'm sure you have so many of the angels laughing in heaven, Maureen.  I will continue to enjoy viewing all of the wonderful photographs and stories shared by your loving family.    

I will forever be grateful for the kindness that Maureen showed to my mother.  Maureen was such a sweet and caring person.  Even though I knew Maureen for 40 years, it was over the past few years that I had the privilege of getting to know her better.  She was a constant and sweet friend to my mother. Maureen, rest in peace and know that you will be greatly missed. -Michelle Foster

I had the pleasure of knowing Maureen for a number of years as I worked for her Doctor and I live across the street. We would run into each other at Safeway often and no doubt, Safeway managers probably wanted to charge us for floor space with the amount of time we would spend chatting!  
Delightful woman, always a story to tell, and  she always seemed to be keeping an eye on someone when they were in need.

Rest In Peace, kind Maureen.  I will miss waving across  Chaparral and Safeway will  have their floor space.    You were blessed on this Earth and we were all blessed to have known you.

My memories of you are rich and loving. We shared many years togethers, first at Saint Michael's and then at Saint Mary's. I remember with special tenderness the three months of psychiatric affiliation at Marlboro, where we headed for the Jersey shore every week-end. 
Memories of our time together will be with me forever.

Our condolences to the family. Aunt Maureen we have fond memories of Keyport N.J., Breton Woods N.J., and even out in Arizona. You will be missed.

Our hearts are broken, my mom was a a wonderful woman with a great heart. She enjoyed life and even at 82 , kept herself busy with many activities.  We will miss you.  Love Joanne and Nigel
