Mel Korey, born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, passed away in his adopted home of Scottsdale, Arizona on October 26, 2015. He is survived by his daughter, Dana; son, Michael; brother, Steve (Harlene); niece, Brittany; nephew, Seth of Scottsdale; and countless friends and business associates in the United States and England. Mel started out as a nightclub singer and later half-owner of Ronco Teleproducts, one of the early companies involved in television commercials and direct-response marketing. Most recently Mel owned and operated a very successful advertising company in Scottsdale. He was a wonderful and caring person to all he was associated with. Generous to a fault, he would have given you the shirt off his back. As a life-long sports fan he would have loved to see his Cubs in the playoffs. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015, beginning at 11 AM at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, 401 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale, AZ. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimers Association, www.alz.org/donate
