

After graduating from Phoenix Union High School, Michael served in the United States Air Force. Upon leaving the Air Force, he pursued his love of art and architecture by working many years at The Phoenix Art Museum as well as owning a cabinet-making shop. He loved coaching youth sports, baking, and supporting organizations such as Greenpeace and The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. He also enjoyed reading, dressing up as Santa Claus and Snoopy for special events, watching Oakland Raiders football and talking politics.
Michael is survived by his children Sean McNally, Christopher McNally, Heather Liebenow, Arianna Rankin, Morgan Vinson,and Devin McManimon-McNally; sisters Patricia Welch (Phoenix), Joyce Betz (Acampo, CA), Kathi Fees (Gilbert), Eileen McNally (Phoenix), Mary McNally (Balboa Island, CA); Joan Juwig (Phoenix); Maureen Hainlen (Phoenix); and brother Daniel McNally (Phoenix); grandchildren Benjamin McNally, Jack McNally, Taylor McNally, Lily Liebenow, Kingsley Noel, and Elliot Rankin. He also has another grandson on the way.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents Francis John McNally and Evelyn Hagar (Kozlowsky), step-father Bonnie “Jack” Hagar, brothers Gerald McNally and Brian McNally, and nephew Steven Welch.
A service to celebrate Michael's’ life will be held Saturday, February 11th, at 10:00am at Green Acres Mortuary. A light refreshment reception at Green Acres will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider making a donation to Aviant Hospice.
