

Minita Joan (Irwin) Levenson passed peacefully in Phoenix, Arizona, on May 2, 2013. She was born in Los Angeles, California on June 25, 1930, to Harry and Herminia Irwin, both long deceased. She was a high school graduate in Los Angeles, and she graduated Stanford University in 1951. She married the love of her life Dr. Sabin Levenson in 1957. She was a teacher and later a substitute teacher while raising 3 sons in Swampscott, Massachusetts. After the family moved to Phoenix in 1979, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Counseling from ASU. Her degree allowed her to council survivors at the Center Against Sexual Abuse (CASA). When she retired to the Terraces of Phoenix, she was an active member of the Book Club, Bridge Club, and a Wii Tennis champion. She had a fierce intellect and a loving heart and she never stopped learning, growing, and enjoying life. She is survived by her loving husband Dr. Sabin Levenson; her sons Clifford (Deborah Nelson) Levenson of Arizona, Keith (Mary Brust) Levenson of Burlington, Vermont, and Dr. James (Anneta Argyres) Levenson of Boston; grandchildren Jonathan Levenson, Nicole Argyres Levenson, Robeson Argyres Levenson; her brother Harry Irwin of Los Angeles; her niece Alice Logan; nephews Donald, James, and John Irwin. Funeral Service is scheduled for 4:00PM, Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Temple Solel, 6805 E McDonald Dr., Paradise Valley, AZ 85253.
