With profound love and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Ramesh Chandar Patri, a devoted husband, exceptional father, and extraordinary physician whose life was defined by discipline, brilliance, and unwavering service to others.
Ramesh was born on October 11, 1950, in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India, and lived a life devoted to learning, healing, and leading by example.
From a young age, Ramesh was known as the most disciplined person in his family—a trait that became the foundation of everything he accomplished. Growing up, he studied 8 to 10 hours a day, determined to follow in the footsteps of his father, an exceptional OBGYN physician who inspired him deeply. That commitment to mastery never faded. If Ramesh set his mind to learning something, he pursued it until he knew it fully. He wasn’t satisfied with surface-level understanding; he sought total knowledge and true expertise.
This passion extended far beyond medicine. Whether it was classic films, actors, finance, companies, or the evolving world of surgery and innovation, he had an extraordinary ability to absorb and understand anything that interested him. He loved excellence, and he embodied it.
Ramesh trained internationally, completing residency in the United Kingdom and Australia, before moving to the United States in 1979. He began his career in New York, later continuing his life and work in the United States, where he became widely known as a physician of rare skill and dedication.
Over the course of his career, Ramesh practiced with remarkable breadth and mastery. He served as a general surgeon, vascular surgeon, radiologist, wound care specialist, and above all, an exceptional teacher and mentor. He was passionate beyond words about his work—he lived for it. Healing people was not just his profession; it was his purpose.
His dedication was so profound that even during his own illness, he continued to care for others. In the final year of his life, while receiving chemotherapy, he still went to the hospital to treat patients. That level of devotion speaks to the man he was: resilient, driven, selfless, and committed to serving others until the very end.
Outside of medicine, Ramesh had a deep love for storytelling and timeless artistry, especially the films of Al Pacino, whom he admired greatly. He carried himself with dignity and style, and those who knew him remember his calm strength, sharp intelligence, and unmistakable presence.
Above all, Ramesh was a family man. He was an exceptional husband and father: steady, devoted, protective, and deeply loving. His family will forever cherish his wisdom, his guidance, and the extraordinary love he gave throughout his life.
A visitation and funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Ramesh Chandar Patri will be held at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery in Scottsdale, Arizona, on Sunday, January 19th at 10:00 AM, followed immediately by burial at Green Acres.
Ramesh’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched, the people he healed, the students and colleagues he mentored, and the love he gave to his family. He will be missed beyond words and remembered forever.
