.Richard “Dick” E. George, M.D., 82, of Prescott, AZ lost his courageous fight against heart disease and Parkinson’s on March 7, 2011. Dick will always be remembered and admired for his strength and wisdom, his dry humor, his kindness, and his great devotion to his family and his profession. He leaves behind many wonderful memories and a family who is grateful to have known and loved such an amazing person. Born in Ohio, Dick served 27 years in the Army in a career spanning Korea, where he commanded a MASH unit, to Berlin, where he commanded Berlin Army Medical Center. He also served as chief of Surgery at Gamboa Hospital in Panama and MMC in Phoenix until retirement in 1995. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife “Boo” (Boots). Survivors include his loving 2nd wife MaryAnn; his children: Margie, Rick, Bob, Betsy, Ryan, Andrea and 13 grandchildren. A future memorial service is planned in San Diego, CA.
