Richard Lee Mayes, Jr, 58, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away December 11, 2022. He was born in Clarion, IA on August 27, 1964. Rick graduated from Nevada High School in Nevada, IA. He was married to Kathleen Holm Mayes on March 7,1992 in Santa Cruz, CA. Rick had a career in athletic ballfield maintenance for many years in California, Florida and Arizona. He served in the United States Army and had a passion for all sports but especially enjoyed football and stock car racing. He's survived by Kathleen, wife of 30 years; and daughter, Alexandra, both of Phoenix, mother, Nell Mayes of Ames, IA and many other family members and friends. To honor Rick's wishes, there will be no funeral service. We invite you to please celebrate Rick's memory in your own way.
